YEAH! They are finally (almost) IBers!
Baptism is the tradition we have in our school's IB side. It is supposed to take the newbies officially in. This year theme was kind of marine. PreIBers were supposed to be mermaid/man and crossdress. We (1st year IB) were vikings and pirates and 2nd year students were some kind of royals.
This year we were little later. And some things did not go as we planned. Usually we start with a "humiliating" the preIBers at our town's market square. Some worshipping towards us and tasks to do. Tasks are something like crawling at the market square, dancing like crazy people, asking for random peoples mobile phone number etc. After that they will be covered with water, eggs, soda, etc, which are used as a punishment if you don't do what you were supposed.
And then the fun begins! Or it should begin. There is a secret party place which is used every year to have fun, dance and bond with the newbies. But not this year. The owner had double booked it and yeah... No party for us.
I feel soooo bad for the preIBers, because I remember from my Baptism that the after party was awesome and I really looked forward to it. So damn. Other time then. Dressing up was fun tho. And I hope somebody else enjoyed it too.

Baptismi (eli siis ihan kunnon suomella kastajaiset) on meijän koulussa perinne IB-puolella. Sen tarkotuksena on ottaa uudet ykköset mukaan virallisesti IB:lle. Tänävuonna meijän teema oli aika merellinen. PreIB:t oli merenneitoja/-miehiä ja pukeutua omaa sukupuolta vastakkaiseksi sukupuoleksi. Me (ekan oikean vuoden IB:t) oltiin viikinkejä ja merirosvoja ja toisen vuoden IB:t jonkinlaisia kuninkaallisia.
Tänä vuonna oltiin ehkä vähän myöhään liikkeellä. Ja kaikki ei menny iha käsikirjan mukaan. Yleensä me alotetaan "nöyryyttämättä" preeppareita (preIB) kauppatorilla. Vähän palvontamenoja ja tehtäviä. Tehtävät on esim. kauppatorilla ryömimistä ja tanssimista sekä randomeilta monenlaisten asioiden pyytäminen. Sen jälkeen ollaankin iha kananmunien, veden ja limsan peidossa, koska niitä käytetään rankaisuna jossei annettuja tehtäviä suoriteta tarpeeksi hyvin.
Ja sitten alkaa huvi! Tai sen pitäis. Meillä on salainen juhlapaikka, jota käytetään hauskanpitoo, tanssimiseen ja ryhmittäytymiseen. Mutta ei tänävuonna. Omistaja oli tuplabuukannu sen ja no nii... Ei juhlia sitten tänä vuonna meille.
Tuntuu iha kamalalta preeppareitten puolesta, koska muistan et omasta baptismistani että se oli se mitä odotin eniten ja siel oli iha mahtavaa. Joten hitto. Toinen kerta sitten. Pukeutuminen oli kyllä ihan kivaa silti. Ja toivottavasti joku muukin innostu siit samalla tavalla ku mä.
